Press release

CREMERLIN(r) a world novelty for the cosmetics market
Cremer Care replaces petrolatum with vegetable alternative

Vegetable based raw materials do play an increasing role in the cosmetics production process. The North German company Cremer Care, a leading producer of natural raw materials for the cosmetics industry, is a global manufacturer that succeeded in finding a natural, purely vegetable alternative to petrolatum – which has been used in the industry since 1859. Thus the motto of the Hamburg based company – ‘Inspired By Nature’ – is forcefully animated.
CREMERLIN(r) has been developed by Bernd Brinkmann of the ‘Walter Rau Neusser Öl und Fett AG’, a subsidiary of the Cremer Gruppe. Several previous attempts to produce a vegetable replacement for petrolatum fell through. Pioneer developer Brinkmann puts it in a nutshell: ‘Relying on fossil oil as the basis of petrolatum is definitively not up-to-date anymore. All the more we are glad that after exactly 150 years of using this oil gel, we have found a vegetable alternative.’
The need for purely vegetable cosmetic ingredients is constantly growing and this very much ties in with the people’s awareness for sustainability. ‘With this worldwide unique vegetable product we fully meet all those expectations’, Business Unit Manager Patrick Knüppel adds. With their commitment to CREMERLIN(r) the Hamburg company group can guarantee an integrated production process of natural cosmetic raw materials on a vegetable, often organic basis.
‘Petrolatum surely has unique properties”, Bernd Brinkmann points out. ‘And now this product – CREMERLIN(r) – is consequently offered in vegetable quality. A real worldwide novelty!’

Cremer Care will present the brand-new CREMERLIN(r) for the first time at the ‘in-cosmetics’ fair in Munich (Germany), from April 21st to 23rd – as well as all their other vegetable based products in hall A2, booth K480.
